The believer in Christ is expected to get to know God better as he walks the pilgrim pathway. But there are things that he can learn only through suffering. One of those things is that He is the God of all comfort. I had known throughout my ministry, of course, that God comforts His own. In summary, our Lord was our comforter while He was here. Though in a sense He continues to comfort from the right hand of the Father, He has sent us the Holy Spirit to comfort us and through that Holy Spirit greater works can be done than were done when our Lord was here. A reading from the book of the Prophet Isaiah See My Servant shall Prosper Shelby raised high and greatly exalted even as many were amazed at him, so marvelous his look beyond human senators and his appearance beyond that of the sons of men, so shall be. Who is the Comforter Jesus Promised to Send? From the two quotes below that come from the same passage, we find that Ellen White teaches that the Comforter that Jesus promised to send is the Holy Spirit and she also teaches that the Comforter is the Spirit of Christ.

The Comforter. Key Verses: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our . And he shall give you another ComforterThe better rendering is probably another Advocate.
