The purpose of this book is to provide a broad, comprehensive, up-to-date coverage of current beneficiation techniques and processes that are used for both metallic and nonmetallic minerals; and for other materials, such as household and industrial solid wastes, that are also processed by conventional beneficiation methods in their standard methods of recycling and reclamation. Beneficiation of Idaho Kyanite-Bearing Materials. Research was conducted by the Bureau of Mines to develop a process for utilization of Idaho kyanite. A continuous gravity-flotation separation process was applied successfully to recover kyanite-group minerals from an Idaho ore containing about 21 percent combined kyanite, andalusite, Contact Supplier.
Phosphate ore is an important raw material for manufacturing fertilizers and phosphorous chemical products. While most of the phosphate resources cannot be directly treated as feed stock due to the low grade of P2O5 and high content of impurities. In order to obtain a qualified phosphate concentrate, the beneficiation of the low-grade phosphate ore is, hence, of great necessity. That portion of a new ore processing facility, or a material modification or a material expansion of that portion of an existing ore processing facility, that utilizes cyanidation and is intended to contain, treat, or dispose of cyanide containing materials including spent ore, tailings and process water. () Department. The Idaho. Phosphates of the Tozeur-Nefta roof series have, so far, been rejected as non-profitable material. This study has revealed that this material is a low-grade ore (% P 2 O 5) with siliceous and carbonated gangue. Beneficiation assays (sizing, scrubbing-attrition, grinding and flotation) were conducted on the +71 µm fraction of this material. In the beneficiation of Florida phosphate rock, flotation plays a predominant role because it is the most economical way to separate the phosphate values from the sand and other impurities contained in the matrix. Typically, the matrix is washed and deslimed at mesh. The material finer than mesh is pumped to clay settling ponds.
